SELECT TRAVEL BASEBALL – SPRING AAU SELECT TEAM(S)

Watertown Youth Baseball & Girls Softball offers a highly competitive level of baseball for players AAU ages 8–12 during the Spring season.

Tryouts are held for AAU Select travel baseball teams, usually in the Fall season for the following Spring.

Team Selection & Practices:

• After players are selected from tryouts, indoor practices begin at the end of January at Extra Innings on Sunday evenings. Tryout cost is free/
  
  

• Outdoor practices start in March at Victory Field, weather permitting.
  
  

Games & League:

• AAU Select teams play 6–8 doubleheader games in the New England AAU Baseball League.
  
  

• Games begin the first weekend of April.
  
  

• If a team qualifies, playoffs are usually the second weekend of June.
  
  

Important Information if Your Player is Selected:

• There is no minimum playing time rule; players may not play equally, though coaches will make an effort to get players in as best as possible.
  
  

• Attendance at all AAU games is expected. Preseason practices are strongly encouraged, though winter sports conflicts are understood.
  
  

• Players MUST also register for the WYBB In-Town Spring season.
  
  

• Costs:
  
  

  • Covers uniform, umpires, preseason practices, and any other AAU club fees for the league.
    
    

  • The total cost will depend year to year, but it will be made clear before tryouts.
    
    

  • Payment will be broken into installments but must be paid in full before the first Spring game.
    
    

• AAU Membership:
  
  

  • Players must register on the AAU website for a membership.
