Softball Coach Pitch

Ages 6 and 7 (8-year olds on parent’s request). Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd graders
Players move up after one season in Tball or previous year of softball. The focus of this level is still on fun, participation and introduction to softball skills. Coaches will begin to give instruction in the basics of softball, such as a proper batting stance and swing and some fielding skills involved with playing the different positions. Players will also begin to learn the rules of the game. The games are three innings, all players bat and play the field every inning of the game and the coaches pitch to the batters on their own team. As with Tee-Ball, scores are not kept and there are no standings and no playoffs.

Softball 10U
 

Ages 8-10. 3rd grade & 4th graders
At this level players are introduced to the competitive nature of the game. Players will be introduced to kid pitched games. The primary goal to this level is to introduce all aspects of the game of softball to the players. Over the course of the season, in addition to kid pitching, the kids will learn bunting, stealing and catching). We anticipate playing games against neighboring town teams.

Softball 12U
 

Ages 10-13. 5th grade & 6th graders
At this level players continue to work on their skills and learn the competitive nature of the game. The primary goal this level is to continue growth with bunting, stealing, pitching, and catching. We anticipate playing games against neighboring town teams.

Softball 14U
 

Ages 13-15. 7th grade & 8th graders
Primary goal of this level is to continue growth with all facets of the game. This will be a travel team. A child can be 15 years of age as long as they were 14 on Jan 1st of 2022
